These patchwork planets are time capsules that I wound with a decade's worth of fabric slices
and thread crumbs.

The glass bottles in these pictures were gifts of my mother-in-love.

When you don't have time or space to quilt it is fun to make paper quilt collages for cards or bookmarks.

Apply the principles of patchwork to crayon muffins.
1) Give your kids a stealth cleanup project: They bring you broken crayons from every nook and cranny in your house.
2) They break them up with their hands or a hammer.
3) Peel off the papers. They will look like a bird's nest of beautiful colors.
4) Put crayons in muffin tins lined with aluminum foil cupcake cups.
5) Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or however long it takes them to melt.
6) Once they cool they look like Reeses Peanut Butter cups.

I feel grateful to have been able to go to Italy, but I'm a reluctant traveler. Museums are my sleeping pill (except there's nowhere to lie down to take advantage of the sleepiness). Sketching enable me to sightsee without overwhelm.
